2.   Job Purpose
 
Developmentand Management of databases and statistical tools; providing technical supportfor all hardware and software related issues of servers and workstations andmaintaining CIEFFA website; Performing system backups on internal and externalnetwork servers.
 
3.   Major Duties and Responsibilities
 
·        Developmentof databases and statistics tools for the Research and Education program andproject of the Office.
 
·        Designand maintenance of a website for the Office.
·        Developmentand maintenance of the internal and external servers and backups systems forthe Office.
·        Createlinkages with IPED and regional information systems.
·        Collectingand collating information related to girls and women education.
·        Designthe posters, presentations, and publications of the Office.
 
4.   Measures of Performance
 
·        Database and statistics tools for research andeducation program properly developed and using the latest technology;
·        Website properly designed, sufficiently informativeand interactive and properly posted on the Internet
·        Backups systems, internal and external serversdeveloped and maintained properly;
·        Posters, publications, presentations of the Officeproperly designed;
·        Purchase, upgrading and maintenance of ICT equipmentproperly done in consultation with the Coordinator and the Finance andAdministration Officer.
5.    Educational Qualifications & WorkExperience
Atleast a Bachelor Degree in IT or Computer Science and a minimum of 3-4 years ofworking experience in a similar role or database management, data managementand computer programming related work.
 Candidates with University Diploma in IT orComputer Science could be considered provide they have 5 years relevant workexperience at a specialist level
6.   OtherRelevant Skills
·        Musthave strong knowledge in web designing and management of computer server.
·        Musthave knowledge of hardware and ICT equipment maintenance.
·        Experiencein Education Environment desired.
·        Experiencein Statistical tools and data analysis desired
·        Goodskills in media Communication and negotiating skills.
·        Excellentwriting skills.
·        Goodplanning and organizational skills.
·        Provenability to produce different communication materials.
·        Abilityto work in multicultural environments.
·        Managementexperience, excellent interpersonal Skills, ability to organize and motivateothers, and to work in a multi-cultural environment.
·        Internationalexposure and ability to work harmoniously with governments and Internationalinstitutions.
7.   Language requirement
Applicantsmust be proficient in one of the African Union working languages. Knowledge ofone more or several other working languages would be an added advantage.
8.   Tenure of Appointment
Theappointment will be made on a fixed term contract for a period of three (3)years, of which the first twelve months will be considered as probationaryperiod. Thereafter, the contract will be for a period of two years renewable,subject to satisfactory performance and deliverables.
